Royal Mattjesty’s daughter wins Canadian Breeders Championship in 1:50

The stocks of Stallion Station’s exciting, young sire Royal Mattjesty got a terrific boost when his daughter Bay Girl scored a stakes record-equalling win in the $170,000 Final of the Canadian Breeders Championship for three-year-old fillies at Mohawk Raceway, Canada last Saturday night (July 24).

Leading from the outset, Bay Girl cut out fractions of 26.4, 28.2, 27.2 and 28.2 on the way to a new lifetime mark of 1:50.

She became Royal Mattjesty’s first credit in the 1:50 list.

In fact, Royal Mattjesty has made rather a spectacular start to his siring career in North America. From his first crop of 57 foals, 41 have raced and 28 have been successful with seven in 1:55 or faster. They have amassed $984,637 in stakes between them.

Royal Mattjesty, who has stood at Stallion Station’s Victorian farm for the past three seasons, will be relocated to the Christchurch base for the 2010/11 season. His fee remains at $4,400 including GST in Australia and $4,000 plus GST in New Zealand.
